Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) took part in ARTEX26 – Army Technological Experimentation, an initiative dedicated to testing and demonstrating innovative Defence technologies. ISEP's Dean, Professor Roque Brandão, represented the institution at the event, held at the Santa Margarida Military Camp in Constância.
ISEP’s participation provided direct contact with technological developments in the Defence sector, in a context of cooperation between academic institutions, industry and the armed forces, highlighting the relevance of engineering and research in the development of innovative solutions.
The event, attended by the President of the Portuguese Republic, António José Seguro, and the Minister of Defence, Nuno Melo, marked the end of three weeks of operational experimentation, during which various technologies developed by companies, universities and research centres were tested and assessed. Among the solutions presented were innovative electronic warfare systems, whose integration in an operational environment makes it possible to evaluate how they work together and how they contribute to the development of military capabilities.
ARTEX26 was held in conjunction with the European experimentation campaign HEDI OPEX26, promoted by the European Defence Agency, bringing together more than 70 organisations and dozens of technological solutions.
