A workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence applied on doing Scientific Research and Ethics” will be held on December 10th, at 6 p.m., promoted by the Master's in Sustainable Energies (MES) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEM) of the "Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto” (ISEP). 

The hybrid event will take place in presential form in room F342 at ISEP. This workshop, which will be in English, will cover topics such as: 

• What is AI? What are the underlying technologies?   
• How can AI be used in scientific research as part of students' academic career?   
• What are the ethical issues and limitations of AI?  
• AI and Scientific Research Work: Complementary or Replacement Tool?   
• Case Study: How can we use AI-based tools to improve our work? 

The guest speaker is Tiago Gonçalves, a researcher at INESC TEC's Center for Telecommunications and Multimedia, part of the Visual Computing & Machine Intelligence (VCMI) research group.
