Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), Porto’s Polytechnic (P.PORTO), and the Order of Engineers (OE) signed a new protocol on March 23 that reinforces collaboration between the institutions and brings students closer to the engineering profession.
The signing ceremony, held at ISEP’s Momentous Events Auditorium, was attended by Maria João Viamonte, President of ISEP, Fernando Magalhães, Vice-President of P.PORTO, Bento Aires, President of the Order of Engineers – Northern Region, and Fernando de Almeida Santos, President of the Order of Engineers. The strategic importance of the agreement was highlighted, particularly in strengthening the link between academic training and labour market needs. The protocol formalises the continuation of a long-standing partnership and aims to improve students’ integration into the professional world by promoting joint initiatives and collaboration in the areas of education, innovation and skills development.
This agreement represents an important step in building a support network for students, focused on updating skills and preparing them for the challenges of engineering. It also seeks to enhance the recognition and value of Portuguese engineering, both nationally and internationally.
With this protocol, the institutions reaffirm their commitment to contributing to excellence in the education of future engineers, aligning academia with professional demands and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of engineering.
