This webinar, presented by Daniel Jarvis, has the theme “Exploring the Math-Art-Tech Connection: Culture, Curriculum, and Interdisciplinary Teaching Practices”.

Abstract

Daniel Jarvis has a unique background in both mathematics and visual arts, having studied and taught both subjects at all three levels of education.

This presentation will highlight connections between mathematics, visual arts, and technology in terms of historical characters/contexts, integrated curriculum with student project samples, print/web resources, and some fun, whole-brain activities designed to exercise the "tough body” (i.e., corpus callosum).

 

Short Bio

Daniel Jarvis teaches courses in the teacher education (B.Ed.) and graduate education (M.Ed./Ph.D.) programs within the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. His research interests include mathematics education, instructional technology, mathematics of the workplace, curriculum integration, and STEAM education.
