Naiara Sebbe, researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), was recognized with the “Best Award Presentation” at the 2025 Design, Simulation, Manufacturing: The Innovation Exchange (DSMIE).
The distinction was attributed to the work presented, entitled “Characterization and wear behaviour of TiAlN/DLC coating deposited on cutting tools for milling AMPCOLOY® 83”, developed at ISEP, under the guidance of professors Francisco Silva, Filipe Fernandes and Rafaela Casais.
The work addresses the wear of cutting tools in the milling of a Copper-Beryllium alloy, having been compared between coated and uncoated tools, as a little-used alloy and very relevant in scientific and industrial terms.
This distinction reflects the recognition of the research work developed at ISEP and reinforces the position of the institution as a pole of excellence in the field of engineering and technological innovation.
