The 5th edition of the Open Robotics@ISEP will take place from 9 to 14 March in the Events Room of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP).
This initiative aims to raise awareness among ISEP students about robotics, regardless of their degree programme or year of study, by being an event that brings students together in teams to take part in robotics competitions. Students also have the opportunity to receive training from lecturers and more experienced students outside the traditional classroom setting, which provides added motivation compared to regular classes.
The following competitions are planned for this year:
- Industrial Robotic Manipulators: development of a solution, based on an industrial robotic manipulator, to address a problem proposed by the organisation or designed by the team.
- Dragster Robot: development of a small autonomous mobile robot (AMR) capable of travelling along a straight track of approximately 10 metres at maximum speed.
- TrackBotGP: development of a small AMR able to complete three laps of a track inspired by a Formula 1 circuit in the shortest possible time, starting the race autonomously when the traffic lights turn green and stopping after crossing the finish line.
This edition will feature the participation of international students, including a group of 16 students from Lodz University of Technology in Poland, four students from Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences in Finland, and five students from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania.
The event is free to attend and open to the entire ISEP community.
