CALL FOR PAPERS
The Organizing Committee of FAIM 2023, 32nd International Conference on Flexible Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing, is pleased to invite you to submit your scientific papers at this conference that will take place at the Centro de Congressos da Alfândega do Porto, Porto, Portugal, between June 18th and 22nd, 2023. The works to be presented at the conference must fall under the following topics:
SUBMISSIONS PLATFORM
As in previous editions of FAIM, the submissions regarding FAIM 2023 can be made using CONFTOOL in the following address:

- The initial papers must comply with Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering (LNME) Springer Guidelines for Authors and paper template. The limit of pages for these papers is 8 pages. Extra pages can be accepted but a fee per page need to be paid. Papers not adhering to this formatting will be rejected without review. The usage of this template is mandatory.
- The authors can choose to work with Microsoft Word or Latex. Templates can be found on the official Springer Conference Template page.
- For the first double or triple blind review, no author names, academic titles, or descriptions of academic positions should be included in the paper. After the paper is accepted, author information, affiliations, and e-mail addresses will be allowed to include in the accepted paper. Please remove the acknowledgment section.
- According to a FAIM Charter, a maximum of 5 co-authorships in submitted papers per author/participant is allowed.
- Also according to FAIM Charter, excess of self-citations is not allowed and can be a reason for paper rejection.
- Every paper has to be presented by one of its authors and no more than 2 papers can be presented by full delegates or 1 paper by students.
- After the paper has been approved for LNME publication and depending on the selected/recommended journal for extended version submission, this new extended version should be resubmitted for the second double or triple blind review following the journal rules. Papers should follow the journals' template and guidelines. There is no page limit for the submissions regarding the fast-track or special issue journals.
- The title, abstract, authors, and affiliations, as well as the order of authors in the ConfTool system, should be the same as in your accepted paper.
Guidelines for authors
- Only full papers should be submitted.
- Each paper is limited to a maximum of 8 pages, including all figures, tables, and references. Extra pages are allowed but will be charged.
- The abstract should summarize the content (goal, scientific novelty, practical value, main results, etc.) of the paper in 150-250 words.
- Self-citations per paper are limited.
- The language of the paper is English. Submissions in any other language will be rejected without review.
- Plagiarism is strictly monitored and plagiarized papers will not be accepted for review.
- Only after the evaluation of the first submission (LNME) and corresponding selection, Authors will be informed about the journal to which they can prepare the extended version.
