SPEAKER: Miguel Azenha

Assistant Professor of the Structural Division in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Minho, His main interests are the numerical study of concrete at early ages regarding phenomena such as thermo-hygral-mechanical couplings, concrete properties evolution during hydration (both thermal and mechanical), creep and shrinkage. He also focuses his research and teaching in Building Information Modelling.

He is a member of American Concrete Institute Committee: “Building Information Modeling of Concrete Structures”, and CT 197-BIM. He is the coordinator of the curricular unit “BIM na Engenharia Civil – Projecto e Construção” of the 4th year in the MSc in Civil Engineering at the University of Minho. President of COST Action TU1404. Chairman of the 1st Portuguese Congress on Building Information Modelling (www.ptbim.org).
