Øystein Ulvestad - "Drawingless Bridges - from design to Construction"

Øystein Ulvestad has a master in structural engineering. He started working in 2001 and very early on took an interest in 3d-modelling. In his ten first years he specialized in design of heavy industry steel structures. Following a childhood fascination of bridges, he changed direction and has spent the past 8 years worked with ways of optimizing 3d-bridge BIM-models.
His work has for the last 3 years encompassed making workflows for designing and building bridges without drawings, but solely based on BIM-models. A year ago, his team finished the first model based concrete bridge in the world. The structure is now build and proof of concept of this revolutionary way of working.
