O Centro de Investigação em Sistemas Confiáveis e de Tempo-Real recebe Vadim Azhmyakov para a próxima sessão dos CISTER Distinguished Seminar Series. O professor do Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (México) vem ao Porto apresentar a comunicação “An Optimization Approach to some Classes of Multiagent Systems and the Sensor Coverage Problem”.

AN OPTIMIZATION APPROACH TO SOME CLASSES OF MULTIAGENT SYSTEMS AND THE SENSOR COVERAGE PROBLEM

We study a specific optimization problem for a system of distributed dynamic objects in the presence of additional topological restriction. Our main interest is with a constructive solution procedure related to the tracking error minimization in a leader-followers multiagent formation. An equivalent transformation of the initial problem makes it possible to consider an auxiliary hybrid model and apply the newly elaborated theoretical and numerical hybrid LQ-based techniques.
The similar optimization approach is also applied to a particular problem of the sensor coverage in a sensor network. Recall that the general sensor networks primarily have two competing objectives: they must sense as much as possible, yet last as long as possible when applied. The proposed optimal control methodology is deployed onto different sensor networks and evaluated for its ability to maintain coverage during their desired lifetime.
